Antenatal classes

Each class provides evidenced-based information and an opportunity to ask questions and make informed decisions about your labour and your baby’s birth. Because the classes are local, teachers are familiar with the maternity services in your area and can tailor sessions specifically to local facilities and needs.

Baby Massage

Baby massage provides an excellent opportunity to bond, communicate and relax with your baby. It incorporates valuable techniques to calm and soothe your baby, and offers many health benefits. The classes follow a programme devised by the International Association of Infant Massage, and are run as a course of 5 sessions.

Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy is the therapeutic use of concentrated plant essences (essential oils) to relieve stress, enhance health and well being, prevent problems and support the healing process. During aromatherapy massage the aroma of the essential oils can calm the mind and relax the nervous system, and the massage movements can improve circulation and relieve muscular pain and stiffness.

We offer full body massage using essential oils, part body massage for problem areas and Swiss reflex massage, a relaxing foot massage using reflex points on the feet and essential oils in a cream base.

Weight Management

The West Wimbledon Weight Management Clinic offers weekly meetings run by a registered Dietitian who specialises in the management of obesity. The course runs for 6 weeks, each session 45 minutes in duration. Your weight, body mass index (BMI) and measurements are recorded, and monitored. Each week a new topic is discussed, and you will be given the facts about weight loss and the tools you need to take control of your eating, including practical solutions for common problems faced when trying to reduce weight. In addition to the weight management clinic, the following services are also available:

Exercise classes. These classes are run by our exercise therapist and are designed to raise your heart rate whilst exercising safely. Regular exercise is an important part of any weight management programme.

Counselling. If you suffer from a compulsive overeating disorder, our qualified counsellors may be able to help with any psychological problems.
